Oliva de Jerez skarn, Oliva de la Frontera, Badajoz, Extremadura, Spain

Group of sharp andradite-grossular crystals, with an exceptional brilliance and a brown color, near to black. They show clear faces of the dodecahedron and the trapezohedron. Disposed on the matrix, contrasting with the white albite and small octahedral crystals of magnetite. A sample of the former Daunis collection; from a Spanish locality not well represented in collections. 6c6y5h

Size: 9.0 x 6.8 x 4.5 cm.
Main crystal: 6 x 5 mm.
